HeyGuys, Updated the original post with club invite. PM if you have questions.
To sign up for a spot, PM your name, contact phone and e-mail.

Start time? Details on rounds per stage (to see if I have enough 5 round mags)?
Any additional info greatly appreciated.
WE had one guy who shot his Sig 550 at the last event using 5 rnd mags and he still came in 7th. As long as you have 5 mags in total you should be fine as we'll assign others to load your empty mags on the CQB stages. Advantage of using 5 round mags - whatever is reloaded by others will be handed to you (no need to fumble around your pockets or pouches).

It is listed as an 8am start. I am interested, looks like fun.
Registration will start at 8:30am and we expect the first shots at 9:30am.

Very interested. will be there. Gotta' shoot those 'Black Rifles' before the f'n 'Horseman' put EVERYTHING on their stupid 'Prohibited List'. APPARENTLY, their got their 'sights' on 30 MORE AR's.
For those that didn't know, our hero (or the ONLY choice we HAVE) Stephen Harper, replaced Vic Toews as Minister of Public Safety, because he was 'too close' to the RCMP, WHICH is probably WHY we couldn't get anywhere. The NEW Minister of Public Safety is The Honourable Steven Blaney . address House of Commons ,Ottawa, Ontario , K1A 0A6 , Telephone: 613-992-7434 , Fax: 613-995-6856 , e-Mail: steven.blaney@parl.gc.ca , EVERY LETTER (Snail mail) you write represents 2,500 other Canadians to lazy to get off their butt's to write a letter... every 'phone call 250. I'M going with the 'Snail Mail' ! e-mails usually just get 'deleted' by office staff. Get OFF YOUR BUTT and write a letter or print out an e-mail and put it in an envelope, no stamp required, I put one on anyway.
I WANNA SHOOT my 'SAFE QUEENS' !!!!!

I will be there :) be gentle on a really new guy...

AR15 is sighted with a 50/200 zero, so I am not sure what to do about the 100m and the CQB stage, but I am guessing its going to shoot low at 100 and really low at 10 :D

also, I have no mag pouches for .223/5.56 ammo. (I do IDPA so I have mag pouches for my pistol but those aint gonna work. what do I do to be safe and effective?

while I am not on any of the rules committes out here, I am pretty sure that's fine. Our backstops are dirt/sand/mountains :) I have seen many steel cases in x25, x39, x51 and 5.56x45, at least.

John Hartman, Got pockets ? Don't worry about 'zero', those little .223's'll buzz right out there ! Won't be shooting at 10 yds. anyway (that's a little TOO close for comfort !). Now, if my 'intended to use' .45 JR Carbine will FUNCTION and those fat 230 gr. .45's will lumber out to 200 with SOME accuracy, now THAT will be something !
To Greg-VP, See, now THAT'S why it's important to 'snail mail' those letters to the NEW Minister of Public Safety is The Honourable Steven Blaney , House of Commons ,Ottawa, Ontario , K1A 0A6 explaining to him the sheer NONSENSE of current 'PROHIBITED Rifles' and magazine capacity laws. .223 AR's can have 10 rd. mags., .308's - 5 , Garand's -8, JR Carbines 10, .22's - all you want (isn't an AR a .22 cal. REALLY ?) . ONE 'snail-mailed' letter from YOU "equals the opinion of 2,500 other Canadians" too lazy to get off their butts and write a letter, no stamp required, that's THEIR formula . E-mails don't do 'squat', they just get deleted, they get so many. Bad guys don't HAVE PAL's or give a 'rat's a**' about the law, so it's up to US to change it. What's YOUR excuse ?
I WELL remember shooting these matches at Squamish, Chilliwack, and I won my very FIRST trophy at a 'Military Rifle Match' at Thompson with a borrowed FAL with a 30 (yes, 30) rd. mag., I've got the 'glossy 8x10' ! It's a HELL of a lot more fun with 20,30, and 40 rd. magazines, you can miss SO much more ! They let the 'Sunset clause', well, 'set' in the U.S., cancelling all this nonsense for competitive shooting, with a 'deluge' of letters explaining the 'PROHIB. rifles and mag. capacities' folly here, we SHOULD be able to do it too !
And Greg, don't worry about being embarrassed by being in LAST place.... I'VE got THAT position 'Locked -UP' !

JR, "Don't worry, be happy". Trajectory doesn't make THAT much of a difference the closer you get. The '0' zone is pretty big on IDPA target, as you know, and knowing Rottboy, I'D be more concerned about getting those speedy RE-LOADS done within time limit ! I mean we're NOT talking 1,000 yds. here ! Other options are 'high-rise' scope mounts, so you can see stock sights, or a 'Holo-Sight' if you have a bit of rail to mount it to un-used somewhere . My CHEAPO eBay $29 Chinese ones work great on CQB (as long as I can STAND STILL and use it ) ! MY accuracy is ALL 'Operator Malfunction', but I don't care, I just want to send lead downrange and have fun. 30 YEARS ago, I cared, now not so much, and it's BETTER now :-D !

A quick thank you to everybody at the shoot today, I had an awesome time.
This was a first for me, and you guys made it easy.

Rottboy, you put on a good show. Thank you
I'll try to make the next one but Friday will be tough. I'll try hard cause I think I'm hooked. :)

totally awesome! loved it. thanx to all involved.

Now, I have to work on my timed 200m shoots. I have, several times, put 2 and 3 mags in a row into a 10x10 steel at 200. Hell I did a mag standing once because I got bored. But with the clock ticking its a whole different ball game!

that, and shoot all the targets. yea...

I will be there :) be gentle on a really new guy...

New guy!!! LIAR!!! Ya kicked my ass and I designed the long range and the first CQB stage. What gives man!!! Jim M., me and Drew have to make it up the next time around and win back the ammo!!!!!!!!!! On second thought, forget about Jim M. He kicked everyone's ass at the last event by a mile. He just had an off day. Jim, ya gotta stop going to dem strip bars the night before!!!!

Rottboy, you put on a good show.........

Correction, "WE" all put on a good show. 1st shot at 9:30am and we're all driving home at 2:15pm. Everybody helped everywhere. That is the perfect match!!!!! SAFE, timely and all fun!!!! Thanks to everyone. See you all on Oct. 25th. Drew and I are shooting for sure (we're old and retired! Ron N., is close behind!!!!) BTW, ya kicked my ass too!!!!

Hope you all can make it out to the tac rifle at tmsa on Oct 20. For those of you that don't know about it here is a link http://wxw.tacmatch.com/

Rottboy, hehe, I have only had my PAL for about 8 or 9 months. I bought the AR-15 this summer. I have less than a thousand rounds down the pipe. Not lying about being new :)

again tho, great times!! I will do these whenever I can! Unfortunately the next one seems to be on Friday, so that's out.

Hey, did anyone happen to pick up a black glasses "case"? not really a case but more of a fuzzy bag with a drawstring. I had it on the far table, but seem to have misplaced it.
