My uncle bought that Sako gun chambered in 7.21 Firebird Lazerroni. Here in Abitibi-Témiscamingue (Nort West region of Quebec) the price of the ammo is about 180 $ a box.

I have the gear to reload but can some of you tell me where to find the brass and bullets in that caliber. Will I have to order custom dies. If so which company ship in Québec province.

Thanks

Firebird

Lazzeroni lists all thier calibres as metric, and list the groove - groove dimmension, thus the 7.21 is acutally .284 so you can use any .284 bullet.

Dies are not a problem, any supplier can ship these, as they are not restricted.

The cases are another problem, they are made only by lazzeroni. You can try some of the big importers here to see if they bring in Brass, or bite the bullet and buy some and then save the brass. New brass runs ~$2 per piece.

Above is some reloading data

"...about 180 $ a box..." Must be the taxes and shipping. Mind you, the ammo starts at $59.99US per 20 Stateside. $44.99 for just thebrass. There is no Canadian dealer on Lazzeroni's site and brass requires the U.S. export permit.
Midway wants $135.99 US for the dies. They won't ship to Canada though.
You may want to suggest to your uncle that he rebarrel to a cartridge he can get without costing the rent/mortgage money. Or you could offer him $50 and have it rebarreled.
If it's any consolation, a Lazzeroni rifle in that chambering with no sights is listed at $6899.99US.

Here in my region, that ammo is only available on special order by a gunsmith that sold him the Sako gun.

Thats a very good idea, should have thought about it.

I suggest you find a competent gunsmith and have it rechambered to the 7mm Remington Ultra Mag. Cartridge dimensions and performance of the 7.21 Firehawk (Firebird is a Pontiac) are almost identical to the 7MM RUM in spite of claims to the contrary. Lazzeroni's performance claims have everything to do with marketing and nothing to do with real world ballistic performance. Ultra Mag brass and loading dies are reasonably priced and readily available. The high priced Lazzeroni brass will probably disappear from the marketplace within 10 years.

These large overbored 7mm's are not very effecient. They burn a lot of powder for the relatively small velocity gain over the smaller 7mm cases. That said, they provide outstanding performance for those who don't mind burning powder in large quantities.

Keep your life simple and have it rechambered to the 7mm RUM ..........or sell it.

A number of years ago Sako chambered the TRG-S rifle in Lazzeroni calibers. I believe they retailed in the $1,000.00 range.

"...Firebird is a Pontiac..." It's a cartridge name too. There is no Lazzeroni Firehawk. You can have a Lazzeroni Tomahawk though. Same high prices and no availability up here.

Oh come on guys there not that bad! However I shoot 7mm Rums
A guy that i shoot with on the weekends, has a series of them, I own the pretty much the the same speed in different cartridges in the same sako 995s,

30-378s and my 7mmRums, run pretty close day to day neck in neck over the chrony.
I pushed out with no accuracy lol and pressure signs 3762 avg vs his 3750s with my rum.
He had more accuracy, mine was MObaseball

The 30-378 will run with the warbird all day, the lazzya and the Wby claims are high to begin with
