I've a cavalry carbine that is wandering my way.

But it's a 7.35 cal.
Other than fireforming 6.5 brass I've not heard of any way to obtain ammo.
Any thoughts?

Not a case of MAKING the stuff, case of IMPORTING it past our delightful all-encompassing Gummint.

Trade-Ex has the brass.

Hornady still lists a 128-grain .300" slug; perhaps Trade-Ex will bring some in if we cry enough.

CLIPS ar the same for the 6.5 and the 7.35.

This is a MODEL 38 Carbine, which was made in 2 calibres: the standard Model 38 (which this is) nd the 6,5mm Model 38.

My first Carcano was/is a Model 38 6.5mm. They are not loud, they are DAMN LOUD!!!!!!

Bunch that came in back in the early 1960s had the bayonet hinges ground down like this one and the bayonets discarded. I got my first one about 50 years ago and (apart from calibre) it is a twin to this one. Fun little rifles, even though bit short in the Butt. Watch that they don't feed your thumb to you when you pull the trigger.

I have had some success loading for these military Shorties using IMR-4198 powder. You can use .30-30/.32 Special loads s a rough guide, although the first Hornady book does list this round.

Nice little Toy!

Be sure to let us know how she shoots!

Hope this helps.
