Hello all:

Just picked up a Swiss 1911 long rifle from the exchange forum. I'm not yet into reloading. In the long term I'm going to have to learn I guess. Anyway for now, do any of the stores in the greater Vancouver area carry 7.5mm Swiss? I'd sure like to take the rifle up to the Burke mountain range this weekend.

Thanks & cheers
Mark

Lever Arms called asking about ordering some 7.5mm ammo from us. Contact them and let them know you are interested. It might help them decide how much to order.

Thanks for the info.

Just called lever, spoke to a young guy who barely spoke English, but was polite and all that. He had no idea what 7.5mm Swiss was and had to ask some one else. Unfortunately they don’t have any in stock and I’m not sure in my phone call will help motivate them to order any.

I may have to order for shooting edge. I hate to think what shipping would cost.

Check with JamesB at The Shooting Edge, I got a K31 and 2 bricks(480 round each and about 15kg. each), shipped UPS for $75.00, from Calgary to Vancouver.

Your looking at $35 for shipping to B.C.

whats the deal with shooting gp11 through the older swiss 1911's...Im assuming the ammo changed/evolved slighty over the century so that by the eighties (the current TSE stock) the ammo must have been a bit different then what the 1911's originally saw. Any issues there?

Pretty good service life, the Stg 57 was in use till about 1980?

Just googled it, the Stgw 57 was replaced in 1990.
