I've been eyeing up a 1882 Swiss pistol, but if the components are nigh impossible to find or create, it isn't worth the headache.

Does anybody reload 7.5mm swiss pistol ammo? What do you use for brass? Dies? Is ammo for this even available any more?

So, am I looking for trouble on this or is it doable?

Fiocchi makes 7.5 swiss revolver ammo, Epps likely sells it. RCBS makes dies, likely Buffalo arms sells them, you could probably find more with some google kung fu.

I've run many a search and there's some info on them, but not a lot.
Some guys are trimming 32-20 brass and using that with some success (bulging and split cases), others have stated using 25-20(?) brass. Haven't found a solid answer as to what bullet caliber to use. Some say .312, other say .325 .
If dies are still available, this might be doable. Just have to nail down some more info before I jump in.

I use trimmed down 32-20 brass and ch-4d dies with a .312 bullet
the .325 is for the swedish nagant revolver
lead bullets or full jacket are best the soft point tend to seperate or get stuck

Very similar and practically interchangeable with Swedish Nagant 7.5mm.
32-20 is a good start. Slug the barrel if you have any questions - I was surprised that Swedish Nagant mentioned in this thread was exactly .309, not .325.

You can order dies directly from RCBS, check the special dies catalog or give them a call. They ship directly, no BS like with gun parts.

PM me with your e-mail addy if you need scans of Cartridge Conversion pages for these two rounds.

"...looking for trouble..." It won't be easy.
"...Epps likely sells it..." They don't list it, but that doesn't mean they can't get it if their Fiocchi supplier has any. They sell it as 7.5 Swiss Ordnance. (AKA 7.5 Swiss Army). Considered to be a .32 calibre, but you're looking at a cartridge that was introduced in 1882.
This is old, but may be of some use to you. .32-20 brass sized in a .30 Carbine die and trimmed. Buy a copy of Cartridge Conversions.
