7.5x55 m1889 load data

I have the older model that needs the low pressure loads.
Of all my load books, they all state not for the older model gun.
I'm using 170gr cast projectiles. I can GC if needed.
Does anyone have any starting load data?

Alliant 2400 16 to 20 grs. I use 17.9 with Lyman 311291 170 gr cast. My bullets are sized to 0.308.
2400 works very well and isn’t position sensitive. Works well in full size military cartridges of WW 1 and WW2. Look up the writing of C E Harris in one of the Handloaders Digest he explains it very well. 2400 gets a lot of use in my cast bullet loads for many rifles.

A lot of people recommend 30-40 Krag load data. That’s what I use to load for my 1889.

I run 35grs H4895 with 178gr Hornady Amax. I leave the case to 7.5x55 case length.

I have they older weaker action. As I understand it will not handle the same pressure as the later models
Which model of the rifle do you use this load in?

The older M1889. I like to keep the load of older GP90(1890) cartridge rifles to about 80% of the GP11 level.
Load would be 45grs of H4895 for the K31, M96/11, M1911 and K11, although I prefer using RL-17(50grs) in the Gp11 level loads with 178 AMax, or equivalent ELD.

Any recommendations for the starting load using 2400 if I was to use a 185 cast projectile?
(The 170gr I have is a flat nose and doesn't feed as well as I would like, the 185gr RN cycles well,)
