Whats the best way to drill and tap it and which scope would be best for the caliber.
What would be the best camo paint and would the old finish need to be removed completely?
Can the 12 shot mag be cut down to make an easy carrying 5 shot?
Any information would help, thanks. :)

Why bother with screws, just weld it on there with a arc welder? It will be way more stable that way. Don't bother with camo paint, just let it rust outside for a month & cover it with tree branches, way more authentic that way. No need for another mag, just jam a piece of 2x5 in the bottom till it only hold 5. Don't forget to cut the stock & trim the barrel to just in front of the rear sight, no need to carry all that extra weight. Good huntin'! You are joking right?

Thank God! I was keeping civil in the hopes you either were kidding, or just naive. Phucker!!! :)

Whoo hoo, I just got back from the post office with the 2A1, wow its a real beauty.:D
Every part matches 100% and the 3 letter rack number is still on the stock. I tried a few dummy rounds and it feeds perfectly.:p The bore is perfectly glassy mirror with 6 grooves and looks to be a right hand twist barrel. There is some small dings and a couple of small scuff marks that should rub out with linseed oil.:) And for those who thought I was thinking about touching it I was pullin' yer chain and would never deface any military rifles especially Enfield varieties.:D I am going to run a bit of boiled linseed oil on it to clean it up and see if some of the small scuffs come out.
PS, I still have a full wood set for a Longbranch 303 if anyone is looking, the price is listed but offers will be accepted. I will get some pics posted asap, John

I am glad 303 Carbine was just messing with our minds. I was thinking of hunting him down and circumcising him with a can opener, the old crank type.

Just think about it, there are people out there that do that s&#t to guns.

I had a new Swede 38 in the grease and a friend of mine talked me into selling it to his friend a school teacher. We were at the range one day and there was a guy shooting a rifle about 20 feet away. He stopped shooting and came over to me and asked me if I recognized the gun. It had the barrel cut and the stock butchered, he said he had problems with the gun shooting high so he was filing the front sight down. I stopped and had the hardest time to contain myself from choking him with a bandolier. That was the nicest 38 Swede I have ever had, and now when I sell a gun I try to find out what the person intends to do with it.

If it was shooting high then it required a taller front sight (not shorter).
I like swedes - but the rifle's are nice too :)

I once sold a mint 1937 Oberndorf 98K to a friend. 100% blue except for a little wear on the mag follower, with just about perfect wood and a excellent bore. The next time I saw it, the poor thing had been "sportyized" Not comes the fun part. This year Another friend I knew back in Chicago had got the gun back, found the original wood, and restored it!
