picked this up from a friend, not exactly sure if its a DCRA or not looks like it has never had a target site on it , and the wood which I'm sure was original to it , was all cut up. I don't know much about the 7.62 rifles, so here are a few pics. the wood had been bedded back at the front of the receiver. everything is correct and matching the remains of the wood is marked CCM.

does this fit in the category of a correct DCRA rifle?

interesting,

I'm hesitating on saying yes due to the lack of the stylized maple leaf stamp being absent from the receiver.

but if its a fake built to match the DCRA bolt its one hell of a good job.

I do not think its a fake, its to full of 30 years of crud and crap inside bore is real good you can tell the pins and stuff like that say on the front site are full of crap and have never been off. I to thought it was supposed to have a lil maple leaf thing on the knox?

I also forgot to mention its dated 1950 also no bayonet lugs

It's a correct DCRA. The "maple leaf" symbol on the opposite side. No bayonet lug on the 7.62 conversion. Ron

Looks like the real deal to me.

I have a number of them, and they look much like yours.

Some of mine have been upgraded to match barrels and/or one-piece stocks. I used one in 1984 for my long range shooting at Bisley. At 900 and 1000 yards I only missed the bull twice in a week of shooting. That was a record score. The #4 action compensates for velocity variables so the bullets all hit the same place.

Very nice pics. I have everything to put it back together includeing a 7.62 marked PH rear site. Only thing i need is a good Ca lower wood if anyone has one to spare

I don't think they would have let the gun out without the technical services proof marking on the receiver.

Replaced receiver to match a bolt, and an un numbered barrel?

I'll have to look at a few Knox forms but I don't think I've seen one without the tech services proof after the conversion serial number.

so what and where was that proof or number? there is a number stamped bolt, receiver, and bbl what other number or proof is supposed to be stamped and where

the triangle mapleaf thing, behind the serial number on the bolt , and on the barrel shank . should be on the receiver ring behind the 1856.

I just had a look at my "small"collection of 7.62 DCRA No4's and all I can say is I couldn't see any standard way of marking other then barrel, receiver, and bolt.Sometimes the numbers on the barrel/receiver were right side up if the rifle was held in the ready position. Some times they were upside down. Most of the times the "stamp was on the side by the numbers other times it was on top of the knox form. YMMV Also didn"t want to disassemble them all to check this out. Want to respect the bedding etc that went into these rifles.
