Hey guys,
Ive been looking for a 7.62 bore brush for my chrome lined type 56 military sks. DO you know if anyone has these or which other bore size would b e close enough? Also should I use bronze or nylon?

TIA

ahhhh. i understand, make sure you get or have a new rod, I cant find aftermarket brushes to fit on a milsurp cleaning rod in any of my local stores.

I like to use one slightly larger than .308/7.62, as these seem to get better bristle engagement/scrubbing.

I wish someone would sell those el-cheapo plastic coated one piece cleaning rods (Kleen Bore?) in my area. They were great for the price.

Use a 30cal brush... Sometimes the brushes are labeled 7.62, .308, 303, .30-06, .30cal, etc.... They're basically the same as far as brushes go.

The phosphor bronze brushes you can buy at CT are labelled 30/32cal. I use the same one for the sks and 2 .308s, and haven't had any problems.

"...caked with cosmoline..." Hi. Using just a brush will take eons. Take off the stock and drop the whole thing into a container of Varsol(aka mineral spirits), for 24 hours. Then clean as per normal.
