7.62 Brass

If you are caught in the U.S. you will be in serious trouble. They do not f*ck around with things like this.

In the future please keep your "adventures" to yourself.Don't drag anyone else down with you........

Also you are violating board rules by discussing/encouraging illegal export of restricted items out of the U.S.

It is good advice. I've seen them in action on more than a few occasions. It's only amusing when the offender trys to argue or just gets stupid like they have some right to be there as a non-citizen. You may just get the chance to give it up willingly and be on your way, but I wouldn't count on it.

I watched some guy argue with them for a good twenty mins once. They were all polite and friendly untill he raised his voice. Six of them rushed at him with batons drawn, he shut his hole, got in his car and headed back across to Sarnia. Smart move, they can lock you up for something like twenty four hours if I'm not mistaken. No charges or explanation required. They can go the other route and lay charges...

Once they take action against you forget getting back there again without a hassel. That's assuming you can go back...

A good buddy of mine does Import/Export work for a major company and works closely with the U.S. Agencies........This was a little nugget of info he passed on to me......

As a Canadian in the U.S you are classed as an "Alien" and have no rights. you can be stopped, detained, and held in jail for up to 30 days without being charged with anything........Try to explain to your wife/employer why you won't be at home/ work for the next 30 days.......;)

Oh well I'm just going by what the Canadian border people told me.

I'll continue to do it too.

Buds please don't promote Illegal activity think of this as your first warning ;)

As stated above just cause our side says ok does not mean you wont get the rubber glove treatment and fines and or Jail time while on there side

Yes, listen to skullboy, you cannot get it in yourself, the only way you can import brass without paperwork is if it is crushed, and unusable, i.e.. scrap metal, and why would you want to do that!

Isn't there a condition where US citizens can bring a certain volume of ammunition over the border? Not sure about components though.

My only experience in this matter was declaring a cleaning kit I bought. The US guard said, ok, then paused, kind of double taked at me, then said, yeah, ok, move along. I guess he was processing in his head if that was exportable or not. Of course it was, so no problem. That said, I wouldn't dare roll the dice on something non-exportable. Definitely not worth it.
