7.62 Muzzle Break shooting .223?

Ya, I know it's not the most elegant solution, but hear me out!

So, I know the difference in projectile size is around 24%, but how effective would a 7.62 comp be when shooting .223?
Would it be so sloppy that such minimal gas is being redirected, totally negating any meaningful compensating effect?

I believe that's exactly what happens on my Vz58. Most of those .223 rifles have 30 cal brakes on them:

And yes. It works damn well for the shooter.

If you're next to the shooter . . . better triple up on hearing protection.

It would work from a sizing perspective for the projectile but if it is an AR the threading will be wrong

If the threading is wrong...then will the weight of the 7.62 brake also be a factor if it is an AR?

what fenix light is that? ive got 2 new ones (pd32 and tk15) and i have 1 of the first ones that made it to canada (over 8 years ago i think) with the all in 1 button with strobe and S.O.S flash modes.. its about the same size as that one but when i was packing up my hunting gear im not sure where it ended up... may even be in my boat so i wont know for a few months.
i want another 1 that size, thats why i ask.

Looking for a Comp to run on the end of a future Swiss Arms I am looking hard at. Its 14-1 LH thread, where as a standard AR will be 1/2-28. So since I really don't want to deal with getting the barrel cut, I am now on the hunt for the AK Battlecomp.
