Is $0.36/round ($450/1260) a good price for 7.62X51 marked IVI 79 & IVI 80?...

...And are the primers boxer, i.e. easily reloadable?
 
Good price for lousy ammo. If it shoots 2 MOA it is a good lot. It is Boxer primed, but you will need to swage the primer pockets. The brass is also thicker so you will need to reduce your load.
 
stupid stuff sticks in my lee dies as well ,no matter how well i lube it- i've gotten to the point that i treat it like berdan primed, and i'm a much happier person

IVI went for a sh!t when they gave the contract to quebec - the army went in to clean up and turned it from sh!t to mediocre

I doubt someone would publicly sell something like that, right next to a booth by the SQ, if it was illegal.

Either way, it doesn't matter anyway, I saw it at the Gunshow in Montreal(Longueuil) and passed on it as I didn't know if it was worth it...

...well, hopefully it will be there in May.

It may not be the best as everyone has said but if it's still available at that price and goes bang everytime I'll be happy.
 
Fair for plinking, if you want to have some fun, give some to your shooting budy, and use the Port ball for yourself, and you get to laugh at his scores! Good for something like an HK 770 which mangles the snot out of brass anyways! (had one, that thing destroyed brass!!)
