7.62 rifles?

Your going to have to clarify that for me, does a raped ape run well or not?

Judging by the context of his post, I would say the answer is "yes". I'm glad he decided to whet our appetites by telling us how awesome the rifle we'll never get is. LOL

he's looking for non restricted.

By 7.62 do you mean 7.62x39, 7.62x54, 7.62x51, 7.62x33, or 7.62x63??

"Are there any unrestricted 7.62 chambered rifles that are readily available in Canada? What about restricted?"

That's extremely disconcerting.... Is that because the SCAR is a contracted military rifle?

Excuse my ignorance... but wouldn't the LWRC & Massourd fall under the same export restrictions as the SCAR? Come to think of it... how are XCRs getting into the country?

The XCR thats coming to canada has a permanently fixed stock on it which is one of the beefs that the US state department has with exports. I don't know if it is as bad as some say. If we can get US made AR's here and XCR's there should be no reason that we can't get other types of black rifles. Provided the US state department can be made to believe they are sporting rifles.

Now given the US DOS reads this website - do you think they will be exported?

:slap:

I spoke to an LWRC sales manager.

He said the problems with getting their products to Canada was their description of them (ie how they describe their M6A3 as a "next gen M4"). It is a great marketing angle, but that is a huge red flag for the state department because it definitely sounded "scary" and lacking any sporting applications. The state department is very fickle and will use a company's own marketing literature against it.

The SABR has the same obstacle as the M6A2/A3 because it is advertised as an insurgent killer (teleporter) rather then "an accurate and reliable sporting rifle".

To export their products, the manager said they will probably have to market a Canadian version under a different name, and probably remove the bayonet lug and other minor cosmetic changes to get the state department off their back.

I asked the same question a while back. The answer? SAN SAPR. If it's anything like the Classic Green in 5.56 in terms of quality and accuracy this will be the 7.62X51 SA rifle to have...and it will be accessible since it doesn't come through the U.S.
