Though I’d post this question here as most if not all are firing 7.62 x 39. I’m thinking about a bolt action in the same caliber for hunting and coyote shooting. Any recommendation on a rifle and what would be the max range to insure a clean kill. I reload so a recommendation on your favorite loads too. White tail is the biggest game I’ll be hunting,,, for now.

The Ruger M77 is a fine 7.62 x 39mm Bolt rifle.

Very accurate for hunting anyway. If you fire more than 5 rounds in a minute the groups go all to **** with the pencil barrel lol

But I highly recommend it.

My friend has a mint one and I have fired it quite a bit. I shot sub MOA with quality Hornady ammo at 100 meters prone with a bipod.

7.62x39 in bolt action are difficult to get in canada (if you dont want a cz) ,just recieve a savage hunter in this caliber that epps in ontario got me from the state, it took six months before it came home. i am setting it up for white tail season at this moment.
