Not exactly what you asked for, but perhaps somewhere to start from.

The data from Hodgdon site is accurate but isn't the D4198 eqivalent of IMR4198 ? I could be wrong but if I'm right, you will be overloading your powder charges because IMR4198 calls for the following:

See the difference, by following Hodgon data for IMR Powder you will throw in more powder than you normally would

I do see what you mean.
The bottle says use IMR4198 data less 10%

I was going to go @ 10% less for D4198 and work up from there.

I've never used D4198 or any Dominion powder for that matter.
Which do you think 10% less of is a safe place to start ?
Any advice on the D4198 would be appreciated.

I have used Dominion powder and still do and like it, I just use the D4064 for different cartridge and it works well. If you follow the IMR 4198 data you'll be fine. It calls for minimum 22.6 grains and maximum of 24 grain so if you start with 22 grains you'll be fine and that is using CCI 200 primer which is the hottest primer so if you use different primer like lets say Fed-210, you can easily start with the stated minimum of 22.6. I developed my load actually using Reloader-7 and my best performing load is near its maximum. Also, another thing that helps you, your bullets are slightly lighter(123 gr) vs. the load in the chart (125gr)

Thank you very much for the advice , it helps me alot and is a great place to start.
I do have CCI 200 primers and Federal 210's .

I also have some D4064SS and was going to try that in .300 BO and .223
I usually use H110 for those .

My bad. Fixed.

Unless you own pressure-testing equipment, the prudent approach to using a powder such as D4198 is to buy a pound of IMR4198 or H4198 and a chronograph. Load 10 cartridges with start loads of the "known" powder and the same amount with D4198. The average MV's of the two powders will give you a sense of the relative Burn Rates of those two powders with that load in your rifle.

Of course almost no-one wants to do that, as while they probably own thousands of dollars worth of shooting equipment, they can't afford a chrony and the pound of known powder - they want someone else to and report back. Then we're back to "IMR4198 - 10%" which is completely arbitrary, but "safe".
