So this is all very interesting. 2 years ago I bought 7.62x39 ammo from marstar, non corrosive primers and clean powder... ###y! Should have bought 5 cases. Now all there is, is corrosive primers and dirty powder that was made in the 1970's! I have read different ways to clean the "salt" out of the gun workings but the real question is, what did the eastern people in the 70's do to clean their guns? Don't think they used windex...lol

Boiling water is the tried and true method for dealing with corrosive. There was even a special funnel made for use with Lee Enfields.

Just flush the bore and gas tube with boiling water, then clean as per normal.

hahaa showering together...I'll have to try that. I have taken SKS parts to the carwash, and pressure washed em! That's a good clean...

get the water hot enough and it will dry itself. I like to pull it out of the wood first so no water gets trapped under it and rusts.

Couple quarts of boiling water, clean with shooters choice, swap with clp.

Good to go!

I use windex if I'm in a hurry or can't easily de-stock (FR-8)

my .02$:)
