Just wondering what happened to the Spam Cans of 7.62 x 54R ?

In the old days (1 yr ago) it seemed plentiful, but since acquiring a few SVT-40's, I haven't seen anything.

May have to settle for boxes of 20, -even that seems unavailable on Vancouver Island.

Lots of ammo come and go. Likely story is that the shipment of spam cans has simply sold out.

More is likely on the way, but held up in the import process, or they are just not available ATM.

I have a pair of hungry Mosins and picked up a sealed can (800 rounds) from Epps..sometime in the last 8 months. Check with some of the advertisers here and see if they have any in stock and are willing to ship.

I've had good luck from Canada Ammo (7.62x39) and Frontier (7.62x25).

lots of it come and go
but can we assume that we will always keep getting soviet surplus ammo in the future? (although inconsistantly....)

Thanks for the insight.

I had my eye on that supply from Epps.
Sounds like Polearm is quicker on the draw... Hopefully they get some more.

Finally found some boxes of 20 from WSS on Vancouver Island, and will keep an eye out for the Bulk.

I have 6 nagants and a new to me SVT40 and onlt about 300rds of surplus ammo left :(

but on the bright side I have about 100 rounds comercial and the dies to start reloading

oh and 100 cases I got from mysticplayer :D

I thought that I read some time back, JohnOne was sitting on a boatload waiting for the government to allow him to sell it to us.

What I gleaned from these forums a few months ago is that there is a fair amount waiting to be imported. However, the government needs factory records, chemical composition and other information for the powder in the rounds before they will allow it to be sold. Of course, it's tough to find 50-year old manufacturing records from cold-war Bulgaria...

Of course, I could be wrong. Hopefully johnone or Canammo might be able to clarify...
