7.62x25 from 223???

ok, im sure someone here as already read from the net of someone who make tokarev cases from 223 by cuting them and forming them in a 30 mauser die...but im looking into my reloading bible and the 223 cases seem to be too small so...is this possible? did someone ever try and what was the results??
please, it must have some guru somewhere who has try it?

The web is very thick down there. It would reduce the capacity of the case by a considerable amount.

I have not done it. It has been done. The .223 IS smaller at the base. There is going to be some expansion in transition zone from the solid head to the case wall. It would be a good idea to check neck diameter over a seated bullet, to make sure it was within limits. If I needed 7.62x25 and didn't have access to correct ammunition, I would probably give it a try.
9mm blanks have also been made from .223 cases, a form die set is available.
