7.62x25 in a 9mm magazine?

Any one know if it will work? Had the crazy idea of a custom barrel for a Beretta CX4 in 7.62 but have no idea if they will feed properly.

Will not work Atleast in 1911 magazines. The OAL of the tokarev round is much longer than the 9 mm one. In 1911 type guns you can use a 38 super magazine. Do not know if that is an option with the Berettas.

Hmmmm.... let's see..... 9x19mm vs 7.62x25mm

I'd have to say NO by 6mm's.

Yes there's a bit of fudge room but not THAT much. Not by a long shot.

Here, let me check.

Update: No dice. 7.62x25 doesn't fit in my Beretta 92 mag. Surplus 7.62x25 is 34.82mm end to end. Even my handloads which are shorter (32.45mm) don't fit. Looks like max length is somewhere in the neibourhood of 31.7mm or so. 9mm American Eagle 124gr FMJ is 29.14mm long.

Ok had to ask since i have never seen a 762 before. Was only thinking it might work since the TT-33 also comes in 9mm but is modded to fit the shorter round i guess.

The 9mm Tok mags came in two versions. One was a less deep mag that was only for 9mm and a spacer was installed in the grip frame. This was the solution used on the Canada Ammo 9mm M213's sold by them about 5 or 6 years ago.

The other method is that full width tokareve magazines are made with a built in spacer to suit 9mm. That's the option sold by Lever Arms here in Vancouver about the same time ago.

While the ammo might fit the issue becomes a case of how long the magazine lips are and how controlled the round will be as it feeds from the longer magazine and longer lips.
