7.62x25 snap caps

All the snap cap makers that use to have them have discontinued them. Your best bet is to take a spent case, drill a hole in the bottom of the case to allow you to press the spent primer out, then fill the primer pocket with silicone making it level with the case head, wait 24hrs and you have a snap cap.

Amazon (U.S.A.) and eBay searches for ‘Tokarev Snap’ show results (the round is often designated 7,62 Tokarev). I bought mine from an eBay seller who isn't listing stuff right now.

9mm dummy cartridges sort of work, but they're a bit too big for the chamber; metal ones will get stuck, polymer ones should flex enough. However, the rim is thicker and wider, so it may over-stress your extractor.

why would you bother with a snap cap in a TT? you couldn't hurt them if you started dry firing now and continued into old age?

I have seen it written that people have blamed a broken firing pin retaining pin on dry firing. That may not be true, but I can see how having the firing pin bounce off the retaining pin, rather than being cushioned by a primer, MIGHT eventually lead to something.

I heard the same. I know the chances are it'll be fine, but if I can find them might as well use them. Cheap insurance.
