if it's chinese, 86 grain, the weights vary between 83-90 grains depending on whose surplus it is

Yes, bxn is the headstamp along with 53 which is also on the case; I believe this is either the mfr year of plant code. I'm just curious as to the bullet weight and they are on 8rd stripper clips for use on SMG.

If it's 1953 vintage I hope it's held up better than the early 50's stuff from Bulgaria. I have yet to get through a mag of that stuff without a couple of split case necks.

I wouldn't worry much about split case necks. Pretty common with old ammo. Really doesn't cause any issues, unless you plan to reload.

I agree that the pistol isn't going to blow up because of it. The chamber does get pretty dirty pretty fast though.
