I’m looking at loading some 7.62x39 with accurate 1680 and hornady 123gr sst
The hornady load data maxes out with 23.9 grains at 2200 FPS my Lee book lists max load of 123 grain is 27.3 grains at 2445 FPS
I’d like to load to factory specs around 2350-2400 FPS
Does anyone load x39 with accurate 1680 that could advise a good load for the 123grain my rifle is a ruger American ranch 16” if that helps

I have loaded 1 lb of A1680 in 7.62x39 for my SKS. Lots of data out there, but I don't think any get near 3400 fps (that seems way too high).

Based on my research, Speer online lists 28.2 gr as the max load for 123 gr projectiles. Western Powder #7 is second highest max at 27.3 gr.

Lyman, Hornady, and Nolser all less than those with 123 gr projectiles.

I don't expect great groups from my SKS so I generally stick to lower weights of powder - enough to cycle reliably.

I found hornady manual to be usually very conservative compare to others. Here are some of my notes for reference only, work up your own load an I'm not responsible for any damage.
