Well couldn't find a DMR thread ;) so decided to start one.

Just played with the rifle in my kitchen, it won't be replacing my Tavor as my go to riffle, to long and to bulky. So a DMR is the only way to go IMO due to the barrel length.

So far I have sourced the Geissele trigger and ACC Brakeout compensator 2.0 ( thanks the mikethebike for just giving it to me as a X-Mas present :p you rock dude ) Stole the Atlas bipod off my Cadex ( will order a LRA after xmas for it )

So the big question is what optic should I put on this beast. ? Looking at pictures online scopes look funky on this rifle. the Specter DR 1-4 will be on it for now but maybe the DR 1-6 would be a better option ? And I was told it was a Herron arms conversion. But how do I tell if its a Bartlein Barrel or a Green Mountain Barrel ?

I put an acog on mine, green crosshair. Gonna put a pws fsc556 on it soonish.

I really need to get a geiselle trigger for it though, the original trigger is not bad, its kinda a 2stage, but im not good with it.

Of course currently its at the bottom of okanagan lake.

That elcan 1.5-6 is too pricey like 2200$, plus remember the center dot on the elcan is 1.5 moa, so not really a precision sight. So if you have a bartlein on there youll never be able to shoot more than 1.5 moa even if the barrel can do better.

Sounds like I need a Nightforce scope, 1-4 or 2.5 to 10 would fit the bill...

yah been looking at a nice nightforce 2-10 scope for my noveske AR that would sure fit the bill, if someone is willing to take my specterdr for a nightforce Im up for a trade.

Small scopes don't look that bad either.

Not bad at all, but its in the way of the rear ironsights isn't it?

If this is supposed to be a DMR, then a bit of magnification, say something with a 6-8x zoom for the high end of things would probably fit the bill eh?

offset ironsights like my magpul pro buis offset are perfect for this rifle with a scope.

after 3 different RMA's with Vortex I have to pass on that...

Yeah definitely, as much magnification as possible and staying as compact as possible.

Hey you're in the same Vortex RMA club as me!

NF 2.5-10x24 would be the tits... it's what I had on my ACR 'DMR' build a year or so ago... It's a deadly optic. Tough to find these days... but even the x32 doesn't look that bad.

Why would someone need to use the iron sights if they have a 1-4 or 1-6 optic?

I would go with a 2.5-10. I have a 3.5-15 sitting around but I think it's too big for my ACR.
I like the 1-4's but they are a little lacking for precision work past 100yds.

In case the optic the optic gets smashed. Or in case you are in a situation where you dont want the body of the scope interfering with your field of view. (although it still kinda does)
