somebody said in another thread that 1200 round crates of czech ammo on stripper clips always comes wraped in plastic bags (not in a sealed can). is this true? how long will this ammo last when stored like this?

Are you going to shoot it? If so, you're fine - store it as you would anything else. If you're buying it to bury it in the backyard so your grandkids have something to defend the plantation with when the alien zombie unicorn mermaids come in 2056, then you might want to look at the never-opened spam cans.

1120 round Czech comes in the can, 1200 in bags with each stripper in it's own sealed bag.

The 1200 crates are from the late 80's/early-mid 90's which is pretty recent for surplus. Store it in a cool dry place and you'll be shooting it 30 or 40 years from now. I few years ago I shot a crate of 49 year old Czech ball. No duds and just as good as stuff that was 25 years newer.
