7.62x39 shortage?

Just checked my basement , Im still stocked in DA non corrosive :)

Hoping CanAm gets more in soon tho !!!! I refuse to use that corrosive crap !!!!

My mind is blown that CanAm doesn't just import Golden Tiger, a NC, brand name round with a reputation for quality and affordability (or some other, like Wolf MC etc etc). I don't see why it has to come from specific producers in Russia or Ukraine, or China. Vympel are making GT, it is being imported to the US still, despite the sanctions (I read about an import batch in 2015 and I think 16) so why can't it be imported here? I don't want to wait anymore. If they make it and it can be imported, do it.

7.62x39 certainly has gone up in recent years :(

It can still be found on sale from time to time at Crappy Tire.

Forum Sponsor Trade Ex offers Free Shipping. Wolverine has some decent prices but if you can't pick it up yourself, the shipping could be a deal breaker (Ammo isn't light so shipping can be rough).

Maybe after world tensions ease a little we might find Military Surplus a little more readily available.

I don't think I would ever pay a premium for NC x39 ammo. If poor, uneducated, half starved warlord crews in Africa can clean and maintain their firearms with corrosive ammo I think I can handle it....lol.

Direct hit!!!! I shot a fair bit of the old Privi and Norinco NC stuff back in the 90's, plus I reloaded a fair bit. Most of what I did shoot went through a 52/57. I also have a single shot In 7.62x39. I can usually muck through cleaning that one! I have at least six SKS's of various types, and can't honestly remember ever putting any rounds through them. I shall have to get busy.:)

yeah but they don't have to take off a rail to get to their Vz's piston...a rail that has an Aimpoint they don't want to re-zero.

And I'd hardly say CanAm's DA stuff was a "premium" price. It was $250/1K. That's the same per shot cost as a bunch of distributors corrosive surplus.

Can-Am says $250-$350 per 1000 when it lands sometime this year.
$300/1440 or 1500 for corrosive.... I'll take 50% more ammo for the same price Alex.

Meh... I take off my top handguard all the time and have yet to "loose my zero". I'm using Zahal polymer handguard topped with OKO sight and hit 6" gong all day at 100m

No prob with 225$ corrosive crates here :p
