7.62x39 soft point?

Doesn't Federal make soft point ammo in x39.....I seen it at my gun store here in PEI for like $25.00 for 20. It's the power shok I think, could be vital shok.

That's what I thought, Bought dies etc. But I am told the brass cases are toast in the CZ 858?? Tell me it ain't so...

BTW here in London has the Privi @ $23.95 OMFG!

I was in Gobles today they have some. It is in a yellow box. Not cheap. They got some 7.62 /54 surplus stuff. It,s just a phone call. AGE

Stuff I have on hand and have used.

-Norinco soft point
-Federal soft point (can't find it anymore)
-Privi Partizan
-Ingman

All worked fine but federal brass was a bit soft.

If your looking for a hunting load, I would go with the best price you can find in a soft points or make up your own loads. I've shot Federal American Eagle soft points in my Norinco sks and it worked fine. I have family in the Orillia area so I may go to Elwood Eps and check out the PVRI Partizan ammo price that was mentioned by cote b and pick up a few boxes myself next time I am in the area. If your plinking I would go with surplus ammo and clean your rifle well afterwards with boiling water and oil it up right after. Surplus ammo is cheap plinking fun, but is usually corrosive.
I don't recall seeing any soft point ammo at Gobles, but then I haven't asked either. Have you tried the Gun Room on Dundas St?
