7.62x39 tin crate storage ?

what happens when u store an ammo crate thats been opened ? does it cut the storage time ? just received one but have access to other stuff for now, was wondering if i should just leave it closed until ready to use, or should i open the tin container and inspect the goods ? czech surplus.

Its in 20rd cardboard boxes inside that tin..................

and it wont do a damn thing different if you open it or not.

I guess it will absorb more moisture in those cardboard boxes if stored in a humid basement.

You can open it or not. It doesn't matter as long as where you store the case is cool and dry.

You can never be without too many ammo cans. I have 37 full ammo cans in my storage room and need more!

its not so much the cold that hurts ammo its only a problem if the temperature changes alot such as in an unheated garage

with that said i dont know it would make much difference anyway milsurp ammo seems to go boom no matter what
