7.62x39 Zastava Problems.

I converted a rem 788 to 7.62x39 Very accurate, but poor ignition with milsurp. Changed the spring to a heavier Wolf and 100% ignition.

have you taken the bolt apart and washed out the inside with some kerosene or gas? In cold weather any grease would slow it down a bit.

If that does not work, just get a heavier spring.

UPDATE

I contacted CanadaAmmo, and returned the rifle for inspection and repair. They decided to send me a new rifle and it has had 0 failures thus far, eats up everything I throw in it. Romanion, chinese surplus, Norinco, federal, barnaul, no problems whatsoever.

it groups pretty well tho, 1-2" groups at 50m are a cakewalk. Iron sights are dead on from the factory.

The Zastava M85 is a neat little rifle. Very accurate with open sights. However, they equip the CF rifles with the same rear sight (and front sight) asssembly that are on their rimfires. I sold one last year mainly due to that reason (vision health is no longer the same). Shot the following target at 50m but squinting through the very narrow/shallow notch made it more guess work than anything else. Otherwise it would have made one very effective 100 yard light rifle for use with irons only. I found Prvi SP and FMJ both performed the best in that rifle.
