Thanks guys. My buddy's daughter wants to get into deer hunting. I figure the CZ527 Carbine in 7.62x39 would make a fine deer rifle for her. She's recoil sensitive, and doesn't like recoil. I own said rifle in .223, and its accuracy is superb.

the 7.62x39 in the CZ would be a fine 150 yard deer rig. I would like to try the new 123 grain TSX

Many people here including myself use an SKS for hunting. I use it when I am in the thick bush or on a deer drive where shots are at close range.

It is fine for dear and the federal blue box SP ammo is great out to about 200m
