What is the absolute cheapest non-corrosive ammo you can buy. last buy i bought 100 rounds of corrosive for 25 bucks. Ive seen soft point hunting rounds be as much as like 80$ / 100 rounds. So plain and simple, what is the cheapest ammo in 7.62x39, non corrosive.

Its all the same! 18 - 20 dollars for 20 rounds! Unless you can find some non corrosive surplus which gets bought up too fast to find anywhere you are screwed! That's why I sold my CZ, I hated having to clean it every range trip, or risk my 700 dollar gun rusting! I love the price of that surplus though so lookin to trick out an sks, if it rusts its only 200 bucks.

It usually runs an average of about $200 for a 1120 round crate. You are paying $280 a crate at those rates.
I'm glad an SKS is not hard to clean.

Well, GMK Armoury sells it for $289/1120 rnds up in Thunder Bay, so some place it's a total ripoff. Also, who cares if you have to clean every time? That's part of the fun!
I've been selling off some personal stock.. Doing less than case lots as well as crates+.

I picked up 1200 rounds of non corrosive chinese surplus at a gunshow for $300 two or three years ago that I have been hording. It can be found, but the price is getting worse every day and the ammo more scarce. Like someone said to me today, "it's like savings bonds" (referring to non corrosive). Very true.
I have somewhere around 12,000rnds of non corrosive (5 different manufacture), No idea why I'm hording it, but I am. IMO I like the cheap hard ball much better. But it's paid for itself many times over just sitting in a pile and will likely be used to pay the kids education.

There is, of course, the option of reloading to avoid the corrosive issues. You can easily buy Hornady in softpoint if you want to hunt. There is Hornady V-Max which is very accurate, especially in my AR, if you want to see what your VZ, SKS, etc. will do accuracy wise; you can get 123 gr. fmj's in Privi P or Hornady for plinking or whatever.
There is no issue any more of it being hard to find. There are at least two dealers on this website that sell the bullets and cases. There are often deals on bullets or cases in the EE as well. I recently bought 400 PMC fmj's for a really good price on CGN.

my next planned gun purchase is a cz-858 and if this offer goes on long enough for my gun savings to get up to 900 bucks, i would Seriously consider buying one of those pre finished czs. if not i might just buy a pre finished sks, but either way i like the idea of less needed cleaning, and the parkerized metal. question. can i send in my current sks anywhere to get it parkerized and chrome lined or do you have to buy one new.
