7.62x39mm...I need options

Csa vz 58 is not as good as a cz 858.
The cz 858 is a more reliable quality battle proven rifle
I own both.

Also own a bushmaster acr in 7.62x39 its alright,
Probably the best ergonomics you will find on a x39 rifle.
But the bolt wont last forever, and your going to have a feed ramp issue

I built an ar in 7.62x39mm with all upgraded parts, very light weight
Completely custom awesome rifle. Thats the way to go if you dont mind restricted

But the cz 858 wins in my opinion

Did you machine (or have it done) the bolt from a 223 bolt? I have a 6.8SPC kit for my ACR that I had a buddy open up a 223 bolt. I worry about lifespan but haven't even test fired it yet so at this rate it will last forever :p

Yup at todays prices you're going to be nearly 3k out of the gate, add optics, swap the A2 grip and a minimum of accessories like a sling attachment or small rail section and you're @ 4k. I put an ELCAN Specter OS3 on my XCR-L and a Weaver Tactical on my XCR-M, your choice of optics will really bump up the price, but the rifles themselves are not cheap.
xcr-l have gone up of 10% because of the canadian dollars , my rifle with a few mag cost me around 3k at the 2014 price , add another k for the scope with mount around 4k in total for my setup

Please excuse my lack of knowledge, but when you say a lot of money...what exactly does that mean? Or is it the add ons that increase price creep exponentially?

OP, SKS are really fun guns, but for what you're asking about I think the Cz858 would be a great option, though I've never owned one. From what I've seen and heard, I would be looking at the CZ over VZ no doubt.

where have you seen failures of the Argonauts bolt? If you are having feeding issues you may want to take it back to whoever did the conversion to have it sorted out.
