7.62x54 dies

i am going to buy Lee 7.62x54 dies
i have a question regarding the bullet size

are these dies made for 308 or 311 bullets?

i have S&B factory ammo and it is .311

very accurate stuff, that`s why i want to load .311 again

but would like to have dies that would size the mouth accordingly and put .311 bullets in
 
Lee lists 7.62x54 it as only having one expander, but does not say which size it is. I would email them and check. You could always order the other one as a spare part from either a .303 (.310 exp) or .30-06 (.307 exp)die set. Their standard 7.62x39 includes both sizes.
 
Lee comes with .308. You can buy the .311 pin from Lee they ship to Canada (or elsewhere if you can find it). While I was waiting for pin from Lee I just switched the .311 pin out of my 303 Brit dies.
I believe that RCBS 7.62x54 dies comes with .311 expander but I couldn't find a set anywhere.
 
I believe that the RCBS dies come with both sizes. I have the Lyman set and it came with the .308, I complained to Lyman due to the fact that the Lyman manual states that most guns are .311 or larger and they just sent me the .311 from the factory, no charge. I have quite a few Lee dies but in this case having tried all three, I would buy the RCBS set next time.

That's what I'd do if I were to reload it. In no hurry to start another calibre. Don't shoot it enough.
