7.62x54r availability...

I was wondering if you guys think I should pick up a case (400rds) of 7.62x54 even though I only own 1 MN rifle? I know there is an issue of surplus availabilty, but my range sells S&B ammo and I don't shoot that often. I already have two full cases of x39, so the wife might get a little pissed...

How much for the case? You'd probably be saving money in the long run vs new production S&B.

Hell Yes! There are lots of 7.62/54 rifles out there and not many people making ammo for them. Also if you have a case of ammo you have a good excuse to buy another Mosin or even an SVT.

Just buy some brass and reload...

buy the case, keep the brass, and then reload.

reloadable brass, you would never need to buy another box.

Hell you could sell the once fired brass and make back some of your investment.

Its getting very hard to find any 7.62x54R let alone reloadable brass.
