Recently picked up my mosin. Second milsurp (first being a tapco SKS from a friends) I have been looking for ammo for a while. What is the proper price nowadays for 54R? I think I only see Chinese surplus ones, what does the avaliabilty of 54R look like in future?

I believe the Russians are still fielding the round. Now, how available Russian ammunition is going to be over here in the foreseeable is doubtful. I'd recommend buying up all of that round you can find.

I sold a bit to a couple that bought a 91/30 from me for $10 for 20 rounds. I had it marked at $15. I really don't try too hard to sell my ammo. I have a fair pile, but I sometimes get the urge to go and shoot a bunch off. Funny how that works.

I would happily buy from you at that price lol. Well it seems the 54R is getting less and less...

Yes, no doubt!! The people who bought the rifle were so polite, couldn't bring myself to charge them any more. I have a fair stock of surplus 8x57, 54R, x39. Like I said, I don't try very hard to sell any. I'd like to keep lots, plus I get a little tired of the big spenders who insist on a big discount if they buy two boxes instead of one. "Don't you want to make a sale?" I feel sorry for people who have to be nice to these guys.

Watching EE it seems to be about 75c a round recently? About a year ago I bought an 880 crate for $400, but I haven't seen prices like that recently
