7.62x54R; what happened?

It seems no where has this ammunition for the price tag it used to carry , it seems to be getting more and more expensive, many websites that had it for good prices (CanAmmo, TradeEx, ect) no longer seem to haven't at the old rates.
The other issue besides price increases is trying to find it, many stores in my region that had it by the crate are out of stock and all don't expect to get any for a while. It seems that the 7.62x54r may be beginning to follow the same path as the .303 British, once a cheap and easy to come by round, now jus made by newer manufactures with almost all surplus depleted.

There is lots available but it is a slow seller, so we stopped carrying it.

Truer words have never been spoken,and that applies to the components end of it bigtime as well.Been there a couple of times in my shooting career,if I see something I can use I don't hesitate anymore if I have available coin to snag it.

I did find a place that sells for $8 a box, at Dominion Outdoors, ordered 8 boxes.

Make sure you clean your barrel thoroughly after using that ammunition,pretty sure it is corrosive.
