7.96 x 54R

I stuff a hornday 312" 150grain soft point infront of 50 grains of varget with winchester large rifle primers... Oh this is with lapua and norma brass( i have about 6 reloads on some of the lapua with no problems)

I have killed many deer with this load out of a fin m91 and a pol m44... and also 3 coyote. Im not sure how fast its going probably atleast 3100fps out of the 31" and some barrel on my 91... shure makes a hole in em... even at 250-300 yards.

Work up your loads though... ect ect yada yada... so you don't blow your own face off!

That's 300winchester mag velocities.......
I think if you run it over a chrony you will have a better idea of published vs. real velocities.
 
I have graphed 300 Win Mag 150 grain loads at 3400, so I don't hardly think that 3100 is impossible in that long tube, perhaps unlikely, but not impossible. Regards, Eagleye.
