7 mm 180 berger bullets

180gr Berger 7mm

The 180 grain Berger is an excellent bullet. I shoot it in my 7mmSTW with 80 or 81 gr of H1000. I get a bit over 3000 fps with my 27.5 inch Broughton. If you go to the Hodgdon site you can get all loading data for Hodgdon and IMR rifle powders. H1000 and Retumbo are powders I like but IMR 7828 is good too and there are others. Like someone said: which 7mm ??? there are many.

180 gr VLD

7mm mag? what's that?

7mm Remington Mag
7mm Weatherby mag
7mm Remington Ultra Mag
7mm Winchester Short Mag.

A rifleman should be precise and accurate ...

As for load data the Hodgdon / IMR site has tons of loads for the 7mm mags.
and try also reloadersnest.com while you're at it. any load for a 175 or 180 gr bullet will be a good start.

I tried to get some of these the other day at the local gun store. They only had a few boxes in and sold out a week before. I'm on the list for a couple boxes. I ended up going home with a box (100) of Hornaby 162 A-max to work with until the 180 grain Berger VLD bullets come in. Looking forward to shooting these.

180 VLDs and 162 Amax 7mm bullets

162 gr Amax perform very well in my 7mm STW at 3000+ MV
of course I prefer the 180 gr VLDs as a first choice for long range hunting.
My magnum sporter barrel keeps 3 shots with either bullet at 500m in ½ MOA.
Good Shooting.
