Looking for opinions on 7mm Mag for long range shooting????? Shooting anywheres from 200 yards to 700 yards???? I know they are capable just wanting peoples opinion use it on moose hunting!!! or deer

Thanks Mike!

7 Rem Mag is easily capable of 1000 yard work on deer. Been there done it!
700 yards on a moose is certainly with the possibility, the biggest variable is whether the guy shooting it is capable of repeatable long shots, and whether the rifle and rest of the rig is up to the task.
If it is a 1moa or bigger shooter, I would suggest getting a precise rifle. 7" at 700 yards does not seem like a big deal, but in a hunting situation where little is perfect, like rest and conditions, 7" at 700 yards is more difficult than it may seem on paper.

Have a 1885 browning Hi-wall with a custom 32" octagon barrell made by dave henry in bentley chambered in 7mm mag. Everyone told me including dave to go with STW but I am amazed of the accuracy everytime I go out. Have shot deer @ 500-600 yrds and I believe you should have no problem shoot 700 yards accuraretly with a custom rifle in that caliber.

The 7mm Rem Mag actually won at Camp Perry, 1000 yards, a while back. It's perfectly capable. High SD bullets plus high BC's added on to the facts that the original big 7 is fast, flat, easy on the shooter and devastatingly powerful at long distances make it a natural. It's right up there for the one-gun-for-everything title, and even though I use my .300 Win Mag more and more I have a real soft spot for any of the 7's, especially the 7mm Rem Mag. My M658 can startle even the bench rest guys with factory ammo to boot - it puts virtually any premium 160-165 gr ammo whether factory or handbuilt all so close together on paper it's ridiculous and I have no idea why. It's just plain accurate as all hell - should be, it's over 10 lbs with a 3.5-10X44 Zeiss on it.
