I'm leaving next friday morning for Nipigon to hunt for moose. Deer and bear are also open. We have 2 bull tags and 1 cow tag for moose. We have 1 doe tag for deer and we have a couple of bear tags. I can hardly sleep, I'm so excited. I'm bringing my Winchester Model 71 and my Rem 700 .35 Whelen with 1.25 x 4 Bushnell Elite 4200 with illuminated reticle. This is going to be one great hunt! I bought some select Prime Rib Beef Steaks that I'm going to cook for the boys. I have some special seasoned hardwood that I'm going to make my cooking fire with and a large stainless steel grill. Pumpkin pie and whipped cream for dessert. The knives are sharp. The guns are clean and sighted in. Now I just have to watch the sand dribble through the hour glass until it's game time...next Friday morning.

Just got back from hunting the west side of 15b yesterday. Saw lots of moose hanging shot by others. It was warm all week but beautiful weather for hunting. A little cooler later in the week as Hurketthunter84 reports. The moose seemed plentiful and were moving. We saw saw several at close quarters but couldn't get to pull a trigger on them (long stories).

Lotsa grouse rabbits bears and wolves in the area too. I saw zero deer sign but there are some I'm told. Generally seemed like more wildlife around this year.

Wish I had another week of it. It's back to the working grind for me till deer camp next month.
