7 wsm loads

From the present testing I have done with a 7RM, I would suggest Retumbo as another good powder option.

Another shooter I was just talking to suggest really good results with Re25. I have also had great results in the 7RM but with lighter bullets. Not sure how temp stable this stuff is?????

I have been using Fed 215M primers but might just drop down to the CCI BR2 to lower the peak pressure a bit. With the warmer weather, I really don't think a Magnum primer is needed.

There is start data on the hodgdon site for 175gr bullets. That should be a safe place to start then work up.

Other powders to consider US869 and if you get pressure signs early without the speed, H50BMG might just be the ticket. This super slow powder solved some pretty nasty issues in a previous cannon. Nice stuff.

A little different but...

I have a 7mmWSSM (wildcat 7mm in 25WSSM brass).

Current load which has been tested by the previous owner:

47.0gr H4350 180gr Berger 2750fps pressure warm but not really hot yet

I plan on trying H4831SC as recommended by Mystic player. Hopefully I can hit the 2800 fps mark with this.

27" Pac Nor polygonal rifled barrel.

All scoped, and have some reloads ready to go. Just waiting for the nice weather.

My 7WSM....

Working from memory here, so not necessarily gospel:

32", 1-9 barrel
180 Berger VLD
63 gr IMR4831 gives me about 3075 fps....and groups very well.

I am currently working on loads for my 7wsm as well but this is my best so far:
180gr Berger VLD
66.9gr RL 25
CCI BR2 primer
2.855" oal (mag limited)
3/4" @ 200m
This load is very close to Vince Bottomly's 1000 yard world record load.
I think I can tune this load a bit more by playing with the seating depth but haven't done so yet.

Two other powders I will try in this same combination are:
64gr H1000
and
62gr H4831sc

Another good place for load data in the 6mmbr.com website in the forum section.
Good luck

Ivo
