Just wondering if anyone has load data for varget and these 70 gr gmx in a 223. My manual doesn't have anything and can't find and cocnlusive data for it. The only thing I could find was a charge of 23 to 24.5 but I couldn't find anything about coal. I can feel powder crunching at 23.4 seated at 2.26 but I know varget doesn't mind being compressed a bit. Anyone have any info? I'm out at camp loading on my time off and figure I'd start at 23 and work up until pressure signs start to show. Just really not sure how long to seat these. Can they be loaded the same as a 70 gr tsx?for a bolt so mag legnth doesn't matter

at 23 grains in mine it will crunch powder, no big deal, just start low and work up, and lengh depends on your chamber and throat length, each gun is different

There's 70 grain Varget data on Hogdon's site. Load for the bullet weight. Who made it or its construction doesn't matter. Don't worry about compressed loads either.

I was under the impression that some lead free bullets require different load data as pressures can be different (not including different OAL's). That being said it says on Hornady's site they are compatible with standard data. That also being said I have no personal experience with it.

Do not treat the Solid copper bullets the same as lead. They are way longer creating a larger bearing surface. If using the same loads, solid Cooper vs lead the pressures will be allot larger on the solid copper. If you reference the nosler online manual for example it will tell u to start significantly lower in charge weight for their etip lineup
