will a 70 yard zero be close enough to a 100 yard zero in your opinion?

thanks

Quick n dirty sight in is .5" low at 25 meters, and should have you a couple inches high at 100 meters. If you're a decent shot, run your load through jbm calculator, and reverse engineer what you need.

I'll often use the winchester ballistics calculator to get a rough idea of where i want to zero, you can put in your caliber and bullt, etc and change where your zero is and see what your +/- is at various ranges

Use a ballistic calculator to see where that would put you at various other distances. It won't be exact, unless you know your actual velocity, but it will give you the general idea.

I just ran the ballistics on a 308, 150 grain nosler partitition, 2840 muzzle velocity, zeroed at 70 yards.

That is a 4 1/2" spread from muzzle to 190yds. Good enough for knocking down any deer if the shooter connects to the heart-lung area. One of my old friends taught hunter education. He was a practical man, and said if you could shoot consistently inside a paper plate you would also be successful.

^^^^^ exactly! It is nice to shoot 1/2 or MOA, but the reality is 2” groups at 100 is plenty good if you keep you shot inside 200m and if you don’t try to do head shots and keep it in the vitals you will be fine!
