700 rem rate twist for a 260 rem stock barrel

i will rebarrel it sooner or later but just looking for a good bullet to shoot from the stock barrel been shooting 120gr ballistic tips they work well but would like to shoot bergers 140gr not sure if they are to long for the rate of twist on the stock barrel.

You can get Berger's recommendation for twist at the link below. Do you know what twist your barrel is?

In warmer weather you probably will get away with the 9 twist on both. However the 140 will very likely go unstable at about 30 deg F. See stability graph at link below. Scroll down to the lower graph. The upper one is the recommended twist. The 130 will likely go unstable too, but at a colder temperature. If it is a summer only load, then you may very well get away with both.

thanks guess iam better with what i have till i re-barrel it i shoot it all year round, targets,rocks,coyotes & deer my favorite gun to shoot.:cheers:
