700 trigger issues

Just bought my first 700- an LTR. It looks all kinds of slick(havent had the chance to shoot it yet) but the damn X pro wont adjust any lower than 5 lbs. Should I send this thing back?

The xmark pro sucks , just how it is . Send it to a good smith and they should be able to work it down to a crisp safe 1.5lbs or so.

I had a Timney installed (and set up by the gunsmith) in my 700 on 7rm.

He tuned it down to 2lb and suggested that I don't lend it out. Very crisp hair trigger.

I've had two xmark pro triggers, one good one bad. The bad wouldn't adjust under 2.5lb and was very rough. The good is very crisp and came down to 1.75lb.

Quality can be hit and miss (pun intended). I'd shoot it first, it might smooth out. If not, spend $150 and personalize your gun with a new trigger.

I love the EE. I picked up mine for $100 shipped (used/like new). $25 at the gunsmith. It turns out that they are not that easy to install - something about roll pins. I don't mind paying for professional help with triggers/safeties.
