Is there any difference between these two rifles other than the flutes and finish of the metal on the VSF. The P is 200 dollars more. The stocks look like the same shape and desighn in different finishes, same bottom metal, and they both have 26" tubes. Someone who know's please fill me in on why the P is more money? Was just looking at the rifles and became curious. Thanks.

The stocks are similar but not entirely identical. The P series stock has a much longer and slightly wider forearm. P stocks are black while the VSF's are tan with black spider webbing. The VSF has your typical BDL jewelled bolt where the P is parkerized. You'll likely find the VSF's bluing to allow smoother cycling (less gritty feeling) of the bolt than the P.

Other than what you've already mentioned, there's not much more different.

P's are more money because guys are willing to pay more for being "tacticool". It's part of the initiation ritual that you have to pay more than you need to when you want to be an "operator".

Save yourself the extra 200 bones and put that towards better than average glass or for more ammo.

Although I'm more into Euro gear, I have to admit that I've always had a soft spot for the VSF, as the design always intrigued me, especially the fluting and full-length aluminum bedding, which many "standard fare" rifles omit.

I would agree in saying that the extra 200$ would do better towards a high-end optic; who cares if you don't look like a SWAT team member lol. Hell, I think desert tan with black webbing looks damn cool in and of itself...
