I have a keltec rdb and recently got some 70 gr speer semi spitzers and loaded up a fre to test. 2 books said 23-25 so i loaded up a 6 loads in between. 23, 23.4, 23.8.... got to the 23.8 and saw pressure signs so stopped there. Shot 5 rounds of the first 2 loads and they were everywhere. Like 8moa, had trouble telling which were shot at which target for some. Ive shot 55gr vmax and got consistently 2moa and even got some 45s to shoot decent. Not sure if i should scrap the bullets and order some more vmax. Have a deal loacaly for some 75gr bthp also. What do people think about the accuracy and pressure??

Maybe load one, and then pull the bullet to see if it is getting damaged in the seat/crimp process?

You definitely used rifle primers?

Definitely rifle primers. Out of the same pack as the vmax i loaded.

I have about 15 to pull from the load testing since i was only abke to shoot 2 or 3 if my 6 loads due to pressure.

defiantly .224 bullets and rifle primers. pulled them and nothing weird going on with the pulled bullets

does anyone with more reloading experience have any suggestions of where to go from here? i have 500 of these and would like to get a load that shoots decently with them. would loading the same tests be a waste of time?

If my rifle grouped 8MOA I would find some deep water and about 2 feet of twine....

I can't imagine why it would be 2 minutes with 55 and 8 with 70. Unless the twist is actually 1:12. Did you check?

That Speer 70 grain RN will stabilize in the 22-250 with a 1-14 twist.
My M700 in 220 Swift with a 1-14" twist would group them into 1 moa.
Something is amiss there. Dave.

Re loaded 3 different loads to try again.

Loaded to jumst umder the mag length. I know its not the rifle, after i shot a few and saw what it was doing i took some of the 55 grain loads and shot a 6 round 2moa group immediately after. Hopefully this weekend will have a better result

Update: 3 loads with 4 rounds each. From under 1.5 moa to about 3 moa at 100 yards. Under 1.5 inch at 100 with the rifle im more than happy. Not sure what was going on before
