In just over half a century of shooting and owning guns, I've only fired about 3 rounds of 11 mm.
Several years back, a friend suggested I get one and we could have some 11 mm. shoots. So, over the next few years, I picked up about a half dozen 71/84's. I've never shot any or even loaded a single round.
Several months back, I sold off the beaters and just kept the best two. I mainly shoot my .30 cal and .38/55 and .45/70 so I thought that I would put the last two Mausers up for adoption. They are both 1888 Spandaus with bright bores with only minor pitting. Only this morning did I notice that they had consecutive numbers, 8014 and 8015.
8014 hasn't fared as well as his brother. It has mixed numbers and a revarnished stock. 8015 is original, but it looks like the ball on the end of the stacking rod had been squeezed.
It just seems weird that these two brothers from Berlin were reunited in my basement a century & a quarter later.
