Folks,

I have inherited a 1888 model 71/84 Spandau Mauser (11mm Mauser) and would like to move it on. It is in pretty good condition with matching numbers and I would like to sell for a fair value. I also have 38 rounds of Dominion ammo (smokeless) and 5 original black powder rounds in its original German, albeit worn, box. The rifling looks good and sharp and the barrel is bright. Stock has a few dings in it but not a lot for such an old rifle.

Any in sights you have on value for the rifle with the ammo would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Don

A gun that looks very close condition-wise to your sold for 850 + fees at auction. So the consignor got 15% less but the buyer paid 15% more

I had to break the link but I'm sure you can figure it out

So my estimate would be 850

Ammo can't be shipped any more so you'd be limited to a local sale for that and any auction established values are moot...

I'm thinking around $800 without ammo which as has been said, can't ship or is more for shipping than ammo is worth.. Probably get $80or $100 for local deal for the shells.

For whatever reason, nice 71/84 rifles are quite common and don’t bring a lot of money. If it were a 71 in equivalent condition it would go for much more.

It’s techically not allowed to ship ammo in the mail unless you are a business. But if you sell it on consignment at a shop or locally, the ammo will add $100 or more to the rifle’s value, if its factory and not reloads.
