If it was truly mechanical what keeps it from doubling under heavy recoil?

I doubt that there is such a thing as a true mechanical trigger on a O/U with single trigger blade.

From what I've read it seems that removing the disconnector will solve the issue of not firing the second barrel with light gauges but you increase the chances of doubling.

The strange thing is that people report that they can pull the trigger twice with 12 gauge snapcaps, with no issues, but when they switch to 28 or 410 loads in tubes, the trigger only operates once.

Yes exactly, I shot 2 boxes of 28 gauge and .410 (all reloads) with no issues. I’ve read another guy with a 725 skeet (like I have) had no issue with .410 but his couple year older 725 sporting would give him problems with 28 gauge.

I’m pleased to report.410 is a dream out of this gun.

I have 2 - 725's, and they both fire on both barrels with pairs of snap caps.

Yes calvados, you're 100% correct. But even then some 725's require trigger work.

Look about 10 down, shows many need the trigger job done if its listed in "Inertia Conversion for Inertia Systems"

I ran .410 tubes in my 725 pro sporting today, while shooting skeet and had no issues at all. I was using factory loads.

Shot the 725 with .410 tubes on Sunday, shot 5 games (one game was a 25 and another a 24 ). The gun functioned flawlessly and have no issues once so ever. So if there was problems before, there isn't with the newest generation (of 725 skeets always ).

Glad to hear that you're not having any issues brooksy08. My 725 pro is running smooth with tubes as well.
