How many do we have? I have always had a strong liking of the 7400s, finally bought a used one in excellent condition with the engraved receiver and gloss finish. Chambered in .280 Remington. Topped it off today with a Bushnell Elite 3500 3-9x40 with the DOA 600 reticle. Can't wait to shoot it!!

I killed a lot of game with a Model 4 in 30-06 since the early 80's when it first came out. Just make sure you have a chamber brush and use it regularly after each time out and it will serve you well. Keep the gas chamber clean and dry, no oil on it !!

I owned a 750 in 30 06 for a spell. It was a nice iron, handled and worked well. It flung the spent brass far enough that I lost a few from the first loads I built for it. Traded it off a short time later.
I should have given it more of a chance, but I only had so much 30 06 brass... :)

Ive got a 740 in 30-06 that I havent done much with, my mother has a 742 in .308 that she's used for years. They're good guns.

Had a 7400 in .30-06, never a problem, was my first big game rifle.
Liked it because it shouldered similar to my 870 and all I knew were shotguns.
Got bored with it, sold it off, went to levers and bolts.

I prefer the 760/7600 pumps for all big game hunting now, they seem a tad lighter and simple maintenance.
